Designing asteroid-mining missions will allow for an endless resource of critical minerals, without the problems associated to Earth mining. The Florida Space Institute will lead the academic investigation of M-type asteroids to offer future, greener alternatives that benefit from space exploration and asteroid mining.

Your donation will empower the Florida Space Institute at the University of Central Florida to harness cutting-edge telescopic technology —the robotic 80-cm TTT at the Teide International Observatory in the Canary Islands—. This advanced equipment will be used to discover and analyze M-type asteroids, contributing to our understanding of the Solar System, The gathered data will be processed by a team of expert scientists led by Dr. Noemí Pinilla-Alonso (image credit to Elena Mora, IAC) and observations will be led Dr. Miquel Serra-Ricart.
